Ingwaz
Meaning & interpretation
Ingwaz is the rune of god Frey in his aspect as Ing, the god of fertility and prosperity. It represents the seed containing an entire forest's potential, the egg holding life within, and the gestation period where something wonderful is forming though not yet visible. Ingwaz has no reversed position because the seed always contains life's promise. It is the rune of completion, the cycle closing satisfactorily, and the culmination of a long process. When it appears, something important is maturing within you and will soon be ready to emerge into the world.
Upright position
Ingwaz signals the successful gestation of something important: a project, relationship, or inner change. Everything is in place though you can't see it externally yet. The seed has been planted and grows beneath the surface. Trust the invisible process and prepare for the moment of birth. Completion is near.
Reversed position (merkstave)
Ingwaz has no reversed position. In modern readings it may indicate impatience with the gestation process, attempts to force a premature birth, or fear of what's growing within. Trust in time: the seed knows when to sprout. Don't dig it up to check if it's growing.
In love
Ingwaz in love is deeply fertile. For couples, it can indicate literal pregnancy or the maturation of a deep commitment. For singles, it signals love is gestating though you can't see it: an inner process is preparing you for the relationship you deserve. Patience will be rewarded with complete, mature love.
In career
Ingwaz in work indicates your projects are in gestation phase and will soon bear fruit. Don't push: let things ripen naturally. It's time to plan, prepare, and perfect before launching. Patience with work processes will be amply rewarded when everything is ready.
Spiritual advice
Ingwaz advises trusting what you cannot see. The smallest seed contains the greatest tree's potential. What you're gestating within is more valuable than you imagine. Don't compare yourself with others who already harvested: your moment will come and it will be perfect.
