Dagaz (ᛞ), the twenty-third rune of the Elder Futhark and seventh in Tyr's Aett, is the rune of dawn — that sacred instant when night surrenders to day and darkness dissipates as if it had never existed. Unlike Jera (ᛃ), whose transformation is gradual like the seasons, Dagaz is instantaneous like lightning: one second before it was night, one second later it is day. It is the epiphany, the eureka, the illumination moment dividing your life into before and after. Within Tyr's Aett, Dagaz occupies the penultimate position — the awakening preceding the legacy. After justice (Tiwaz), birth (Berkano), cooperation (Ehwaz), self-knowledge (Mannaz), intuition (Laguz), and gestation (Ingwaz), Dagaz represents the moment when everything built in silence emerges into light with a radiance transforming the understanding of whoever beholds it.
