Aries

Description

Aries is a relatively small but historically important constellation, as it marks the vernal point of the spring equinox. Although its stars are not particularly bright, its astronomical and astrological significance makes it one of the most well-known zodiac constellations.

Mythology and History

In Greek mythology, Aries represents the ram with the golden fleece that saved Phrixus and Helle. Zeus placed it in the sky to honor its heroism. The golden fleece was later the goal of Jason and the Argonauts.

How to Observe

Best visible in autumn and winter in the northern hemisphere. Look for Hamal, the brightest star, forming an arc with Sheratan and Mesarthim. Located between Pisces and Taurus.
