Sagittarius
Description
Sagittarius points its arrow toward the heart of the Milky Way, where the galactic center is located. The "Teapot" asterism is very popular for identifying it. It is an area extraordinarily rich in nebulae and clusters.
Mythology and History
Sagittarius represents the centaur Chiron, the wisest of centaurs, teacher of Achilles and Asclepius. Unlike other centaurs, Chiron was known for his kindness and wisdom.
How to Observe
Visible from June to October. Look for "the Teapot" - it's easier to see than the archer. The Milky Way is brighter and denser in this direction.
