Philosophy

Kǎn represents water in its aspect of danger and depth. A yang line imprisoned between two yin: the light of spirit surrounded by darkness. Yet water never stops; it always finds the way forward, molding itself to any shape. The teaching of Kǎn is perseverance in adversity: not fighting against circumstances but flowing through them with the trust that a true heart always finds its course.

The Image

Water flowing unfailingly downward, penetrating all obstacles on its path.
